i had to double take when looking at this… petals! very creative. I love mini big art attacks (laying stuff out to look like stuff from a birdseye view)
Abu Dhabi home poster.
This is the second attempt at doing a poster for one of the Abu Dhabi students. Alot of the moodboards they sent us, i felt were quite ‘normal’ and samey. Nothing stood out in any of them for me to create an unusual piece from. I chose this particular one (see above) as it really gave me a taste of culture. I’m still unsure of it. There wasn’t much to draw from, as i didn’t want to use the eagle or people in the photo incase it came across offensive. Also, usually working with a lot of photographs, i struggled without having photographs to use within the poster.
I originally started a poster for a different moodboard, but as i was doing it, it didn’t come across as an image that would illustrate that it was from Abu Dhabi, so i started this one (I plan on completing it and uploading it tomorrow). I considered lots of options before starting the posters, id of liked to of done a typographical poster but had a slight language barrier problem!

My Home poster.
I have really tried to create a poster which shows it was made entirely from the research on the mood board. I combined the stamps and the wallpaper, created a little washing line, and hung from it the word ‘Home’ - using a teabag for the O. I used a photograph of my dog and added a little hand drawn body (represents the artsyness at home) - including a top she’s been dressed up in before (guilty).

Back to the home brief…. heres my original mood board. I was asked to create a poster from it to represent my home. (see next above post)
Some tile parts me and jake collected in alicante from some mounds of rubble from where some buildings had been knocked down. Lovely little patterns on some of them. Jazzed one up a little on photoshop.
Summer is on its way, some snaps from taking the dog out earlier today.

We made it wasn’t picked for the final show name, but the Illustrators fancy using it for some collab’ work… who knows where this could go? Playing with the logo.

This is an initial mock up of the degree show idea. The idea of ‘we made it’, is we (our year) made it through our 3 years at uni and we also made the show and made all the things in it.

experiment for the final show name (filled with everyones work - so everyone gets to shine)
